ABOUT BCM
BACKGROUND
Boeing Composites Malaysia (BCM) is a premier advanced manufacturing facility and a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, marking Boeing’s first wholly-owned manufacturing facility in Southeast Asia. Located in Bukit Kayu Hitam, Kedah, Malaysia, BCM plays a vital role in Boeing’s global aerospace supply chain by producing high-quality composite products and structural subassemblies for Boeing commercial aircraft.

Established originally in 2001 as Asian Composites Manufacturing, and renamed as Aerospace Composites Malaysia in 2013, the facility was fully acquired by Boeing in late 2023 and subsequently renamed Boeing Composites Malaysia. Today it stands as a testament to Boeing’s long-term commitment to Malaysian aerospace excellence and the region’s growing role in advanced aerospace manufacturing.

BCM produces parts for all Boeing Commercial Airplanes program including 737 MAX and 787 Dreamliner. Our facility manufactures and supplies high-quality primary and secondary aerospace structure, composite, bonded, assembly and sub-assembly panels, such as aileron skins, spoilers and spars, flat panels, leading edges, trailing edges and various miscellaneous components.
BCM is based in Bukit Kayu Hitam, Kedah, Malaysia. The USD $32 million plant was officially opened by Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad in September 2002.

Our workforce of approximately 1,000 skilled Malaysian professionals represents a deeply rooted local talent base committed to quality, innovation, and operational excellence. At BCM, we cultivate a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and teamwork — fundamentals that enable us to deliver world-class products to Boeing customers worldwide.

Safety and quality are at the heart of everything we do. We adhere to stringent industry standards and employ robust quality assurance processes to ensure that every product leaving our facility meets or exceeds global aerospace requirements. Our ongoing investments in training, technology, and process optimization reflect our dedication to preserving Boeing’s legacy of safety and excellence.

BCM is more than a manufacturing hub — we are an active participant in Malaysia’s aerospace ecosystem. We collaborate with local suppliers, government agencies, educational institutions, and community partners to promote skills development, foster innovation, and support workforce readiness for the future. Our presence helps strengthen Malaysia’s position as a competitive aerospace centre in Southeast Asia.
BCM, situated in the industrial area of Bukit Kayu Hitam, is a mere five minutes away from Malaysia-Thailand border. We are reachable through the North-South highway and located two hours away from the Penang port, the main shipping method of our products. We are also situated within thirty minutes from seven different universities and technical learning institutions.

As Boeing continues to invest in sustainable aerospace and global manufacturing excellence, BCM remains a strategic partner in the journey toward innovation, growth, and responsible manufacturing. We are proud to contribute to the future of aviation — from Malaysia to the skies around the world.
